Thanks for all of your votes. It looks like we will refer to Our Time (the era that begins at the time of game inception) as The Era of Reclamation henceforth thanks to all of your suggestions and votes. Again I will restate that this Era begins at the end of what we will now refer to as The Dark Era, and continues on even now. This era is to be known as Reclamation because we are striving to reclaim our status as an influential race in this galaxy and also our rightful place as Earthlings and citizens of the Human Race.

Anyone running AutoHotKey can copy and paste. This Will allow you to post a wave and current game time in chat, when chat is active window, the time.

This adjusts UTC time to AUS time. Melbourne is 10 hours ahead of UTC. I calculate the minutes to now, and subtract the start date. This leaves me the minutes since the start date. I multiply by 8 since 8 days days to one real life day is the ratio. I divide the minutes by 525600 to find current year. There are 525600 minutes in each year. I take the "floor" of that, this rounds down to the whole number. I then subtract the year * 525600 from the minutes. This tells me how many minutes are left in the current year. I round that to 2 decimals. This allows me to send a wave and the time stamp in chat.

o/ on this Day 119.52/34ER

This sends that line to whatever window is active. Click in the chat window and hit F3 and it will post it.

fleas, this should give you a good foundation to develop your formulas for your clock.

Enjoy and see you in a day or two, game time of course. 8 game days pass for every real life day. What is real life anyway? Surely someone's delusion.

I doubt anyone else will be using this, but wanted to post the update to the script. I found out I can not add to the UTC time until after I converted it to minutes. Anything behind the ; in AHK script is ignored as comments.

thnx RAM for the code. This will help. Learning to convert this syntax (which is my biggest task atm) will be much simpler knowing the basic formula that you have used to track time in the game. Now I can narrow my search.

I have updated my clock feature. Once I test it a little more, I will convert this to an exe file so it can run stand alone for those who do not run AutoHotKey and still want this useless clock.

Once this is in your AHK scripts. Hit F6 and a clock will show up in the upper left corner. It will update the time every minute. I may push that out to further. Not a real need to update real fast.

It also adds a feature that you can hit Alt-c and it will paste the current time. So if you click in the chat window, or forum or such thing, have the script running and hit Alt-c, it will paste the current game time into whatever window is active.

One drawback is hitting that left alt toggles grav anchor. You can hit the right alt and c and it will not. So just be careful if you need the grav anchor on AND you need to paste the time. You have been duly informed, so do not send any ship repair bills to me.

After a few days or so of testing, I will compile this into a simple executable and it will have the same features.

Yes, a total waste of time, but still fun!!

If we all start using this, we can time stamp some things in chat and everyone will have an idea of when who was on when.

Fleas, this DOES NOT take you off the hook for creating a cool game clock. This is just a temporary thing until you do something better.

Updated the clock to correct to start at day 1 instead of day 0.

was changed to

aday := round(((aminutes - (ayear*525600))/1440)+1,2)

Above quote has been corrected. Anyone wanting to correct their current script can just change this one line. Anyone copying the entire script will already have the correction.
