Elections Announcement

Postby G.A. Hall » Sun Jul 20, 2014 9:52 pm

In response to the large and growing Colonial population, and overall good management of the Colonies by the New Industrialist movement, UNCA intends to allow self governance of the colonies - henceforth individually, and collectively. UNCA will retain direct control over the Apollo Project.

The availability of polling systems permitting, UNCA intends to host Colonial Elections this Tuesday, 22nd July. The initial government structure will consist of a Mayor for each colony, a Governor for every planet, a Senator for each system, and a single Colonial President.

Polling will open on the 22nd and close 24 hours after opening. UNCA will provide a count and appoint those elected to their seats.

After the elections, we will begin transferring powers to the newly elected body. Write access to the star charts and planning approval for new jump gates are two initial areas of transfer.

Dear Admiral Hall,

At what time will elections start?

Should I have my colonists vote using local time at the colonies or a standard time from one of the UNCA controlled planets?

Is there any additional information that I should provide to my colonists before the vote?

Regards,

UNCA Commodore L3, Seikatsukira

I did notice that you can vote for someone who does not have a colony in that system for Senator, so I did.

How often will elections be held?

The election is now closed.

Congratulations to Johneaux as our new Colonial President.

Other large results are Prolapser, Senator for johneaux-19, and Seikatsukira as Governor of johneaux-19-14.

There are 50 active seats in the new parliament, with 66 seats unclaimed.

Can the voting for the next election last for 3-5 days instead of only 24 hours?
