Hope it worked, if not sorry.

I think the Bast is a rare spawn of a Prom.

Here are the contents of the fields I have mine in.

The only thing that might refute this idea is if a bast is in a Chron only field. Anyone seen one there?

I have had Bastnaesites in an Agrite only field, a Colombite Field only, a Chrondrite field only and a mixture of all 3

Did the one in the chron field get mined? Can we verify that it was a chron only field?

Yes you mined it for me. I will go into my data base and figure out which system it was and then you can visit it. :-)

From my count I have found and either you mined or I have mined 32 Bastnaesite rocks so far.

After 4 years, I finally got confirmation.

Nice, that makes getting them so much easier. Since farming for Proms, means you are farming for Basts too.

Thanks for checking.

I guess now would be a good time to revisit all fields that I have mined over the last 4 years to see if a bast has spawned. I often don't see proms when they are small, so assuming its the same with basts. At least I get to register a few more proms, in case of future need. Exploring new fields and visit them a week after should also be quite efficient, at least faster than farming by mining I think.

Does anyone have the ytt yield, age, MB class and mining skill used to mine a bast? Would love to calculate base yield, so it can be added to calculator for yields. I assume no one will mine a fresh bast with MB class 1 and MS 1 to get the base yield :p

I have 2 floating in fields. I could date the field, mine one and backwards calculate. I may not get exact, but could get close. I could also pester Jam about it. He might tell me on a good day.

That would work, easy to to backwards calculate and should be quite accurate if its old. I don't want anyone to mine it early though, Im only interested in the numbers if anyone is/or has mined one anyway and got the numbers.
