Why "Cherry Picking" is not good practicec.

:!: When mining an asteroid field the temptation is to "Cherry Pick" the valuable asteroids and leave the common ones.

 This is not a good thing to do.

:!: Unless the asteroid field contains only valuable asteroids, the practice of taking only he valuable ones will eventually leave the asteroid field with only common asteroids that no one wants.

:!: This is because when an asteroid is harvested, it will almost immediately re-spawn, BUT...
The type of asteroid that is spawned is determined by the chance of spawning of each types of asteroid in the field

;) So, eventually no valuable asteroids will be in the field.

:) For this reason, you should also take out some of the common asteroids, if any, to, at least, give some chance of valuable asteroids spawning.

This particularly applies to public fields, because they are mined so frequently they can become useless very quickly.

 I'm surprised no one posted to this thread. A first ... everyone agrees?
