Collision when leaving NPC Star Station Docking Bay

Postby Mooncrest » Sat Jun 24, 2017 8:28 am

I am not sure if this is a bug, a graphics problem, an internet connection problem, or what, but more and more frequently when I undock from a NPC Star Station in a Leviathan the collision detection goes into overdrive. I get all the sounds of collision, the ships bounces arund the screen as if ti has collided with something and the frame rate drops from over 30 to less than 5. The other number of the fps display rises into the multiple thousands from the low tens. Every thing slows down and this can last for fifteen or twenty seconds, which is a lifetime when you want to get on with things.

Can anyone give a logical explanation and may be a solution or workaround? Apart from not using a Leviathan?

This problem with the collision detection is still occurring. In fact it is getting worse. I, along with others, am completing a set of Jumpgates. Currently we are working on gates in Flavos Highway III. The gates are quite close together, which is not a problem. The problem is when my ship warps to the gate location it always collides with one of the gates. This would not be much of a problem except the collision detector seems to keep firing. Graphically the ship seems to be physically in the Jumpgate structure. Graphically the zoom foes into extreme closeup, the picture is in constant motion, pressing the <3> key works, but at the next firing of the collision detector the view zooms to extreme closeup again. Trying to unload cargo to the Jumpgates is only achieved with great difficulty as the view is in constant motion.

Is it possible to have the collision detector only fire once then move the ship to a location outside the range of the collision detector?

Sometimes delivering material is not a problem. This is because distance between the Jumpgates and the the jump in co-ordinates of the ship vary quite a lot. I am not sure why this is. I am not sure if this part of the problem.
