Dave's obsession getting worse

The Ship's Computer, Dave, has had an obsession with gas skimming when jumping or gate-hopping for some time now. Lately it seems to be getting worse. Not only does he insist on activating the Ram Scoops on every jump or gate-hop now, but he, also, seems to do it twice, maybe just to make sure it is not working, on spacial transits quite frequently.

I'm sure this is taking up some of his time delaying the gathering of location data and thus slowing down spacial transits.

He seems to ignore Emergency Jumps presumably because the initiation of the Ejump Tech prevents deployment of the Ram Scoop.

Could the Computer Techs look into this and correct Dave's behaviour?

Actually, he tries to use the RAM Scoops twice every jump/gate-hop, now. This gets very irritating when you are trying to haul stuff between systems.
