What about the max or gravity. Do we have numbers for those?

domes suggests gravity can be anything up to 2 and still be okay.

Necro ;)

First a question.
- Has anyone determined what is meant by "placeindependent" with the Orbital Gravity Anchor? (there is no information on it in the wiki)

Followed by a thought.

Wouldn't an electro-magnetic field be needed for a planet to be able to have an atmosphere?
- Without something to hold the atmo in, it has no protection from cosmic forces. So moons and other low gravity planets would be a no-go in that respect.

Orbital Grav Anchor allows you to make your OSB have disconnected sections. Once you place your first module, you have to connect any new module to the existing structure, except with a Orbital Grav Anchor. It allows you to place it separate from the rest of the structures and attach new modules to it.

You are correct in RL about the magnetic field, but it is not an issue in game. Noty sure the magnetic field keeps the atmo in place, but it does shield the planet from deadly solar winds and such which could blow away the atmo.

Thanks Ram :)

So the anchor mod really has nothing to do with modifying a planets gravity then?

Yeah, I figured Jam was playing loose with that. But as many designers like to reach for features that are at least plausible, I was surmising that this could be a factor in why some planets will never be able to have an atmosphere.

Yjr Orbital Grav Anchor does not have anything to do with terraforming, but there is a Planetary Grav Generator Module that does.

Yes, you are correct, there is already a theory in process that they can put a huge one about a million miles from mars blocking the path of the son. They believe that this will create a magnetisphere on mars and allow it to develop an atmosphere over the course of a lifetime.

Ty both ...destroyed the anchor I built ..kind of a waste of 100 coils and 5 prom ..lol

@demonicreaper

yeah, Mar's weak field was what I was thinking about with that. I had not heard that plan though, I'll have to read up on it ..ty :)
