Free up my browser, smoother running, better optimization, fewer unity crashes, and most importantly to support the development of a game that I enjoy a lot.

Is there a benefit to buying the PC version now vs. contributing to Kickstarter? If I contribute to Kickstarter will that also buy me the game now or will I have to wait until it goes on Steam or something?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I do most of my gaming on steam because I play with many friends.
The game is set to release on steam Feb. 27 so my question is this:
Will there be a price for the game on steam or will the beginning of
the game adventure be free. I saw where there will be 3 payment
plateaus above the free basic one. Will these payment levels be
a one time price (like other game expansions) or are we looking
at a monthly fee. My friends and I avoid the monthly fee games
because of playability issues with the paid users. You can't compete
on the free side vs. the "pay your way to win" other players.
I represent a fair amount of players on steam. We tend to play games
together when we like them.

I am sure Jam will chime in. but wanted to give you some input from a long time player.

There is three premium options a month. $1 each right now. We are encouraging Jam to raise that a little. He needs to eat!

Each premium gives you abilities n different areas. Without any premium, you can still play, but are limited to class 5 level items in industry and combat. Planets means you can set up settlements on two of the inner8 planets.

Without premium, you will get no Stellar Credits. SC is what we pay to be able to establish colonies. This takes players 1 to 2 months to get to usually.

The last thing this game has is a pay to win structure. One because Jam makes sure it is not. Two, the way to win is different per player. I have been playing for over 14 months with 2 accounts and I am no where close to winning, because this game allows you to set your own end game. New content wekkly keeps it fresh and fun for me. I do have to admit that half the fun is the community. Since ythis is not PvP at present, it allows us to work together to accomplish things. MASSIVE things that it is very hard for one player to accomplish.

So come along and join us. Feel free to ask questions. We like Jam staying on game development, so we try hard to help with the lack of official instructions. Plus, the game concept is civilization has collapsed and it is up to us to figure things out. I, personally, love that part. When we get stuck, Jam gives us little hints. Sometimes very little. But most the time enough for us to move forward.

Hope that helps a little. Looking forward to seeing you and your crew. I hope you will be pleasantly surprised by this game. I think it is very unique, but I am almost Amish, so what do I know? 8-)

Actually, winning in my gaming experience takes a big back seat to just having fun and a good time.
I like to explore way better than I like combat in a game. I hate stopping my strategy on expanding
just to fight a battle with someone who is in the game for the confrontation I have plenty of games
that deal with combat only and if I want to play that type, I can use them.

Here's how I would do the pay structure when steam releases the game.

1. Steam to charge $20.00, first 30 days=50% discount ( $10.), second 30 days=25% discount ($15.)
This would give the developers a good shot of $$$ right out of the steam gate.

2. Make each premium option a straight $10.00 expansion cost for the entire gaming experience.
Have NO monthly charge !!! It requires too much bookkeeping for a small amount like a few dollars.

I believe this would fill the coffers very quickly and give the developers the $$$ they need to hire
some new people. This is based on my 5 years experience of buying and playing steam games.
