thanks for the reply, I have been considering filling all Buy Orders in the SM except yours since you introduced your "sliding scale" Market,
personally I believe the Tin and Nio prices are artificially high at the moment but as you pointed out there are a few players whom have multi Trillion Credits (Davh being the obvious one) and buying millions of tons of Tin & Nio at inflated prices is not a daunting exercise. Last time I released 2.5 million Tin and Nio onto the market (@ 100k/ton) Davh bought it all within 2 hours, this was not my intention, I hoped that it would encourage players to reduce their Buy Orders value but it fell flat. I have since accumulated 6 million each Tin and Nio, getting players to drop prices of rares is the hardest thing to accomplish in the game but I believe current prices should not be above 100K, unfortunately one player cannot influence the market, it requires a sustained effort from all players dealing in Rares trading....just my thoughts
cheers

:mrgreen: My solution for dealing with niobium and tin pricing is to force them to be treated as currency.

In effect, bartering niobium and tin for ships and ship modules converts niobium and tin as currency.

My discounted volume sales of ships and ship modules encourages mining of niobium and tin.

--- My barter exchange of niobium and tin for ships and ship modules is meant to encourage shipbuilding.

I also treat electronics and mechanical parts as currency for ship modules not containing niobium and tin.

--- Electronics is linked to 1 tonne of iron & carbon and mechanical parts is linked to 1 tonne of titanium.

--- I don't think Local Market pricing should be changed for titanium or carbon.

I think Moon's barter exchange is right on target for single item purchases.

My discounted ship inventory is meant in support of Moon's shipbuilding efforts.

I noticed that when you started selling at 150k someone bought a lot just to sell it forward to Nio Tin Market, getting a easy profit. The drop from 165k to 150k between the 2 first points in the chart is the result of this. Meaning a buyer gets even more credits to buy for. You should always fill the buy orders with higher prices before you start selling.

If my math is correct it would currently take around 1.2 trillion credits to buy Nio Tin Market empty

How do you actually force this? I have seen you write alot about it, but havent seen it do any effect yet, I think?

My discounted volume sales of ships and ship modules encourages mining of niobium and tin.
Your bartering is easily ignored now that anyone can just go to Nio Tin Market and buy the needed nio/tin before the barter.

--- My barter exchange of niobium and tin for ships and ship modules is meant to encourage shipbuilding.
Kind of off topic

I also treat electronics and mechanical parts as currency for ship modules not containing niobium and tin.
off topic

Very off topic

--- I don't think Local Market pricing should be changed for titanium or carbon.
Where did the topic go? Think its pretty far off now :D

I think Moon's barter exchange is right on target for single item purchases.
I think this is off topic as well

My discounted ship inventory is meant in support of Moon's shipbuilding efforts.
You know what this is? You wont get a price if you guess it...

For the record, the pointing out off topic is mostly "teasing", nothing mean. Feel free to post more comments, questions etc. here as you like Moneyman. I am always open for discussions. On topic is preferd though.

:mrgreen: I am disturbed by your response to my last post … claiming a post is off topic is not responsive.

My topic appears below in quotes:

A summarized explanation would be that another player, other than you or I, consider selling niobium and tin at various price tiers, currently, not helpful to the game economy.

Stag does explain some of the reasons he has reached this conclusion.

Not mentioned is the wide disparity in $$$ and personal inventory between some established players and everyone else.

In selecting the topic, I have the right to suggest an alternative approach considering the actual reality, mentioned above, in the game economy.

I have respect for your perspective. Please show respect for my perspective.

Re: Offline! Nio and Tin Market in MZ3

Postby Loke » Sun Jul 23, 2017 11:00 am

Added my .ahk scripts for SM to second post for others to use or get tips from. Feel free to ask or give ideas for improvements.

Status update Nio Tin Market:
Ufortunately the paint we used on the Stock Market module doesnt do well this close to the sun, and we have to repaint with more radiation resistant paint. The fooms from the new paint screws up the SM electronics, causing random buy orders. Until this is sorted out, the market is offline. I have no ETA for when the problem is solved and the market will be back online again.

Loke wrote:Here are the .ahk scripts I use for Stock Markets, its lazy coding but it works. If I could just figure out loop syntax the way I want, code would be a lot cleaner.
I recommend testing scripts in notepad to check if output is as wanted.

Deleting orders, requires that orders are within the same range of numbers (which they will be if they were scripted in at the same time):
Edit this script with "s=<insert lowest sell order number>" and "b=<insert lowest buy order number>
Code: Select all

I keep the big SM orders in scripts, so I can do simpel edit in the script, then run deleting script and run updated SM order script. Takes only about 2min to do.

You could set up a loop to do this and it would allow you to adjust by editing one or two variables.

s=18867
sstop := s + 100 ;I picked 100 but this is however many times you want this to run.
b=20449
bstop := b + 100

^!d::
loop {
Send delsell %s%{Enter}
Sleep 500
s:=s+1
} s < sstop

loop {
Send delbuy %b%{Enter}
Sleep 500
b:=b+1
} b < bstop

nbuyquanity := 4300000
nbuyquanity := 110000

^!e::

loop {
Send sell niobium %nbuyquanity% %nbuyamount%{Enter}
Sleep 500
nbuyquanity -= 100000
nbuyquanity -= 5000
} nbuyquanity < 1

I think you get the idea. Have to hop off and did not recode the rest. Hope that helps a little. If not, feel free to ignore my post.

I am also not understanding what is jumping around. Care to explain a little and I am happy to try to debug as much as possible. If it is a SM bug, I would like to get it to Jam since he should be working on SM issues either currently or very soon.

Thank you very much, excatly what I was thinking, I hadnt understood the loop setup and the decreasing of variables syntax properly yet. You saved me from a lot of reading :D

Sorry if it wasnt clear, there is no SM bug for me. Im only repainting! :lol:
Seriuosly, there is nothing wrong, just needed an "offical" excuse to take it offline for a while ("official"= a lie to keep my real reason secret, but dont tell anyone 8-) )

Glad it is helping. Let me know if you need any more help figuring it out. I love AHK. I really enjoy scripting in it.

I won't tell anyone. Your secret is safe with me. 8-)

I really loved your idea and what you are doing. I am even tempted to dump a large amount of nio/tin to address the pricing a bit. Stag may beat me to it. I hope so. :lol:

Re: Offline! Nio and Tin Market in MZ3

Stag has posted a considerable qty up. Bar 200k of each I intend to leave it alone. We finally seem to dare I say it?
Have some surplus exotics & thus pricing is able to come down.

I think the mad gate building season may be over...for now.

Thx again, solving the loop confusion made it possible for me to get the script as I wanted. Ill remember to ask if I find a new need for ahk and get stuck again.
I used all day yesterday to improve on the script, and almost all this evening on writing explanation for it in second post, which probably no one will find useful :lol: Oh well, it was fun so worth it :D

Now I need to do more mining, if the price stabilizes at 125k I need at least 1million of eace nio and tin before the market can go online again.
