I was speaking more in the line of an article explaining the lore and how the game got to the setting your story takes place in. Or maybe a synopsis on the game and it's features ..maybe a review. (unbiased if possible)
As for where to post it, I'm not so sure on that. We would need to do a little research on gaming sites that allow thier members to post that kind of content. Of course as the developer, Jam would have a better chance of getting it in somewhere with good visibility.
I plan on living forever ...so far so good!

I see this was already mentioned. But this game should have it's own TeamSpeak 3 Server(s) Start with one. 50 people. if it does well then increase cap-size. There is not a lot that needs to be done to start increasing A stronger player base. There is a lot of things to get people's attention. Create a contest. get people in game on the forums and in other social media avenues, Such as FaceBook, Twitter - Hashtag/Ascent -The space game-Ship Contest. The one that wins gets the first ship that they Designed plus something else like some rare modules for creating something like the big ships. you want to create more Revenue ?? then create a small in-game store, sell more ships, not the ones being built by players. these need to have something extra to make it worthwhile buying. create Flags that can be posted on the bases to show who they belong to. Allowing each owner of these enormous flags to have avatars added to create an in-game database with many Pictures to choose from IE: Colors, different pictures like skulls and daggers and well you get the point. There are so many ways to grab new players and to keep the ones we have.

European Space Agency photos!!!
Ive been here perhaps 40-45 hours before i noticed at the startup screen that the beautiful imagery was 'real' photos of our galaxy. Cooool!
For promotional value, perhaps we can place that information a bit more 'up front' and visible. I think we all like the immersion of space. That it is 'real' imagery adds to that considerably and should not be hidden. I've read numerous times how there are billions of stars (though most are inaccessible at this time). I've not read that we are flying through a universe all based on real imagery.

Thx an I got that, but topic is how bring new players. Forum structure is important because of first impression. First impression: old old game, which use to be great. If first post you read is 2019 not 2013 then first impression is: old but good game, interesting. But I have no clue is it hard to do it so lets leave it.
Speaking of hard things:
(this include YAM and is more how to get old players back rather inspire new players)
1. Smart DLC : I would pay real money for any DLC which save time.
- mining platform - ship which can be left in asteroid field and as long you logged it does mining (it would rise the pop of the game btw even if just virtually) - graphic representation of it is already done! (loading bots in Inner or probes)
- planing computer - so you can plan your buildings in code rather than physically be there (that should be really easy to implement if I understand mechanics correctly)
2. Open to community: give us a code we can modify and implement if approved or give us an option to play with or without community modifications - I bet that all players who settled want their systems to be somehow special, legendary, worth visiting. Even customise music once you arrive at NOVA CITY!!! would be amazing. Again I am not sure if I understand mechanics good enough.
3. I just had chat with my 11 years old - game is cool, but lacks sense of adventure. He want to have an option to be attacked by an alien or pirate if a new world is discovered or pirates at the gates have a small chance of jamming and ambushing. There is no possibility of failing by bad luck or stupidity, there is no thrill. Maybe this is why there are (optional) monsters in Minecraft ?

I personally love Ascent. So you might ask yourself "why dont you play it more frequently?" The simple answer is commitment. The whole thing where you lose any colonies after your first 3 if you dont pay for a while makes me lose interest. Since If I would lose a colony, I would probably never come back. This is the problem with monthly payments to keep everything going. I, for instance, dont have that money every month.
I would personally much more prefer having to pay... lets say €15 for an extra permanent Settlement + OSB. Or even for only a new permanent settlement. And of course I understand that a montly pay rakes up much more money than a one time payment would. But think of it like this... You arent getting that money now anyway. Not from me at least. Since people like me wont/cant/rather wouldnt commit to a game where they might lose lots if they lose interest for a while.
I hope this makes sense to people. Just wanted to post my thoughts on the whole "getting more people interested" thing.
